Talent Attraction

Attracting and retaining a skilled workforce.

The Talent Attraction Project, which forms Action 9 of the WDAS (Workforce Development and Accommodation Strategy) is a collaboration between CHDC and Neon Logic Agency with the support of the Central Highlands Resources Roundtable (CHRR) and CHRC. Talent Attraction aims to alleviate critical workforce shortages in the Central Highlands and promote the region. Through research, strategy development, creative execution, campaign implementation, and analysis, the project endeavours to position the region as an appealing destination for living, working, and leisure whilst attracting and retaining skilled professionals.

Campaign Research

The Central Highlands faces a significant labour and skills shortage, with staffing identified as a key issue for local businesses, supported by a 28% rise in job postings on the Jobs Hub website. The Central Highlands Invest Concept Study Report recommends a consolidated recruitment campaign to attract skilled and unskilled workers across industries like mining, agriculture, healthcare, and hospitality. Filling these roles is essential for the region’s long-term economic stability, and employer participation across sectors will be critical to the campaign’s success.

Campaign Strategy

The talent marketing strategy for the Central Highlands focuses on positioning the region as a place where people can enjoy rewarding careers while maintaining lifestyle and financial independence. By showcasing the diverse workforce, balanced living, and unique community culture, the campaign will highlight the region’s broad career opportunities and thriving environment for individuals and families alike. A clear, adaptable process for marketing roles will be established, utilising multiple channels and authentic employee stories to connect with both passive and active candidates, strengthening the Central Highlands’ brand as a prosperous, close-knit community.
