CHDC stands for Central Highlands Development Corporation.
We’re an economic and tourism development agency, which means we do a whole range of activities to help build a strong and sustainable economy for the Central Highlands region of Queensland.

The Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) is one of our key supporters and collaborators, but CHDC is an independent entity, with its own CEO and Board.
If you contact us with a question or request that we identify as a better fit for CHRC, we will do our best to put you in touch with the right Council officer.
No. We are not a membership-based organisation.
However, we highly recommend you subscribe here to our free mailing list to stay up to speed on CHDC opportunities and events.
The bulk of CHDC’s services are provided at no cost. This includes:

- Fortnightly eNewsletters and other regular updates

- Statistical tools, including an annual Economic Profile
You will need to pay to attend our events although some are free.
We service the whole Central Highlands region but our office is in Emerald.
We are in the heart of Central Queensland, Australia.
Our region sits at the crossroads of the Capricorn and Gregory Highways; a three-hour drive west of Rockhampton and a 1.5-hour flight from Brisbane.
