Time for Change

13 November 2024

It’s abundantly clear that we’re in a time of change politically – from our shift at the State level from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) to the Liberal National Party (LNP) in October; to the very fresh outcomes in the United States of America.

Change is a constant, however how we respond and shape change is the space we often play in.

At CHDC, we ensured our engagement with the new Member for the Gregory electorate, the LNP’s Sean Dillon, was immediate. Within a day of the Queensland election, Mr Dillon was good enough to give us his time at our October Board meeting. The session with the CHDC Board centred on extending our existing relationship and defining opportunities for access and visibility with key decision makers in the new State Government.

Mr Dillon reiterated his party’s key election platforms, with particular emphasis on enabling infrastructure and a renewed focus on rural regions.

The new-look Queensland Parliament will sit twice before the end of the year: between 26-28 November and 10-12 December.

CHDC looks forward to a strong relationship with Mr Dillon to position our regional priorities at the front of the line.

Here we go!

Gregory MP Sean Dillon with the Board’s (l – r) Ciarán Hallinan, Councillor Joseph Burns, Greg Christensen, Councillor Gai Sypher, Peter Dowling, Councillor Rachael Cruwys, and Councillor Karen Newman; and Central Highlands Regional Council Acting CEO Ross Musgrove.
