Grant Opportunities in Tourism

29 November 2023

The Queensland Government has launched a new $10 million program to help grow the tourism industry in regional and rural areas, such as the Central Highlands.

Under the Building Bush Tourism fund, businesses and not-for-profits can apply for grants between $50,000 and $200,000 for projects including:

  • heritage buildings and cultural institutions
  • aquatic and recreation facilities
  • infrastructure for arts and music festivals
  • walking tracks, lookouts
  • and plenty more!

If you have a great project in mind, please let us know. If we can’t help you directly, we may be able to put you in contact with someone who can.

Applications open tomorrow, 30 November 2023, and close on 1 February 2024.

Another opportunity to consider is the $5,000 Accessible Tourism Starter Grant. It’s for organisations at the beginning their journey towards improving accessibility and can be spent on projects such as:

  • access audits
  • accessibility plans and statements
  • digital and website accessibility
  • staff training and education.

Applications close in one week on 6 December 2023.

The possibilities don’t stop there – there are countless funding opportunities to consider in the free Central Highlands Grant Finder.
