Supershow Inspiring Visitors to Explore More

By CHDC’s Visitor Economy Coordinator Roger John

Greetings everyone!

I’m excited to share that the Central Queensland Highlands will be on show at the 2023 Let’s Go Queensland Caravan and Camping Supershow in Brisbane next month! Caravan and camping visitors are a significant contributor to our local economy so securing exhibition space at this massive event is a valuable opportunity to grow that market.

But wait, there’s more! The Supershow will also be the venue for Queensland’s Top Tourism Town Awards ceremony and our very own Rubyvale is a finalist in the Tiny Town category. This is a fantastic achievement in itself for Rubyvale and the broader Sapphire Gemfields but it will be an even bigger thrill if Rubyvale actually wins. You can help by casting your vote – and encouraging your customers to do the same – using this link.

Rubyvale’s not the only local destination kicking goals at the moment. Carnarvon Gorge has been named Australia’s best hike, and ranked 6th in the world, in this list compiled by global travel company Explore.

OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT

Members of our Tourism Alliance Network (TAN) are invited to join with CHDC at our regular business networking sessions. These events are a great opportunity to connect, share ideas and collaborate with fellow tourism enthusiasts.

Our Tourism Action Group (TAG) and Tourism Advisory Panel (TAP) will also be reconvening soon, and we would love for you to join us. Don’t hesitate to contact me for more information.

I value your input and ideas so please feel free to connect at any time. Let’s work together to make the Central Queensland Highlands a must-visit destination!
