From the Desk of CHDC

SETTING THE STAGE FOR EVENTFUL YEAR

5 February 2025

Welcome to 2025! After a fun-filled family Christmas and bucket list New Year on Sydney Harbour, I’m back on deck at CHDC, with preparations in full swing for our calendar of events. Here’s a sample of what’s to come:

Our regular business networking returns for the year with a session this Friday night. These have been going great guns for our local business community and are a great way to connect with other local professionals in a relaxed and informal setting. Free entry but please register your attendance here.

CHDC’s first major event for 2025 will be a Working Lunch on 9 May. We’re excited to lock in renowned futurist and economist Bernard Salt AM as the event’s inspirational speaker. Just the recent briefing meeting with him was enough to get us all pumped to push for bigger and better outcomes for the region. We can’t wait for him to come here to share his insights with the Central Highlands’ movers and shakers. We’ll open ticket sales in the coming weeks.

This year also marks 10 years of the Central Highlands Farm to Fine Dining, a regional produce showcase hosted by CHDC and the Central Highlands Regional Council. We’re pleased to again confirm Brisbane’s renowned Blackbird Bar and Grill as the venue, with its Executive Chef Jake Nicolson again ready to work with us to deliver an impressive menu.

I started with CHDC in 2017 and have been a proud contributor to the success of Farm to Fine Dining ever since. I’m really looking forward to working with Jess Davison, CHDC’s Agribusiness Development Coordinator, to again shine a spotlight on our region, its produce, its people and of course our collective ambitions.

Another big ticket item this year is CHDC’s Central Highlands Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner. The Emerald Town Hall is booked in for Saturday night, 6 September, so pop that date in your diary. I’ll let you know when tickets go on sale!

Partnerships are paramount to the success of all of our events and also have many benefits to your business. So please browse through our 2025 prospectus or contact me to discuss a tailor-made package. We’d love for you to be involved!
