GEMFIELDS SOAKS UP SPOTLIGHT

CHDC was thrilled to be part of an important – and fun – event to promote our region’s tourism industry to the rest of Australia.

Channel 7’s Sunrise broadcast live crosses with weather presenter Georgia Costi from Rubyvale in the Sapphire Gemfields in late May.

The initiative was made possible by Queensland Country Tourism, with assistance from CHDC.

The TV segments, filmed onsite at Miners Heritage Walk-In Mine, featured a host of local legends and gave viewers across the nation a taste of what makes the Gemfields and our wider region so special.

With tourism development part of CHDC’s mission, we were proud to support this opportunity for national exposure and the boost it will give to the region’s visitor economy.
