A BUZZ OF ACTIVITY AND OPPORTUNITY

23 July 2025

There’s a real buzz around the region now and with so many great events on the go, it’s no wonder!

First up, the 2025 Central Highlands Business Excellence Awards are just around the corner, and tickets go on sale here this Friday. Seats are limited, and with so much interest already, they won’t last long. If you’re planning to be there (and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!), be ready to jump in quickly.

And just quietly… The Hymack Girls 5-piece band are set to be an absolute showstopper at this year’s gala. With vocals, sax, bongos, drums, and seriously good vibes, they’ll have the room buzzing in no time. Get ready for a fun, high-energy performance you won’t forget!

I also had the absolute honour of being part of the 10th anniversary of Farm to Fine Dining recently. What a night! It’s been a whole decade of celebrating the incredible produce and producers from our region in true style—such a special milestone to be part of.

Coming up later this year is TOURISM25, CHDC’s flagship tourism event. It’s always a great opportunity to bring the industry together, share fresh ideas, and look ahead to the future of tourism in the Central Highlands. More info coming soon!

And finally, planning has officially started for AGTECH26. We’re already working behind the scenes to bring you another innovative and exciting program focused on the future of ag and tech in 2026.

Behind all of this, CHDC continues to deliver on its strategy to drive regional growth and prosperity. Whether it’s through partnerships, events, advocacy, or industry support, we’re focused on helping the Central Highlands thrive. I’m proud to contribute to this work by supporting our Board and making sure we stay connected to the needs and opportunities of our region. It’s such an exciting time, and I love seeing the energy and ideas flowing across our community. Thanks for being part of it all.

On a personal note, it’s been 12 years since I moved back to the Central Highlands—returning to the region where my roots run deep. I feel incredibly lucky to live and work in a place that offers such a strong sense of community, real opportunity, and a lifestyle that supports both career and family.

That’s why I’m so passionate about giving back in ways that help grow our economy and create more pathways for others to thrive here, too. This region isn’t just where I live—it’s where I choose to invest my energy, my work, and my heart.
