'Brand' New Beginnings

20 September 2023

Greetings!

Tourism-related businesses in the Central Highlands will soon have a unique opportunity to join the fast emerging ‘Country’ brand, as our region begins a new partnership arrangement with Queensland Country Tourism (QCT).

The team from QCT, along with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), will come to the Central Highlands early next month to explain how this move will help international and interstate visitors identify with our destination; and how we can further benefit from the many programs aimed at improving tourism for regional centres as part of the Towards Tourism 2032 strategy.

No longer only Coast or Outback, the Country is here to stay as part of our State’s destination branding.

To mark this new opportunity, you’re invited to CHDC’s free Tourism Forum with TEQ CEO Patricia O’Callaghan, QCT CEO Peter Homan and QCT Marketing Manager Deb Holland.

• 5:30pm – 8:30pm
• Tuesday, 3 October
• Maraboon Tavern, Corner Hospital Road and Esmond St, Emerald
• Free but RSVP is essential

The QCT team will also be visiting the Sapphire Gemfields on Wednesday, 4 October, and Carnarvon Gorge on Thursday, 5 October, to meet tourism operators and discuss ideas and opportunities.

Please contact me to register for the forum or if you have a specific topic to discuss at one of the Gemfields or Gorge visits.
