Once the Christmas rush is over, Central Highlands business operators can hopefully take some time to rest, recharge, and reflect upon 2018, as we gear up for another exciting year ahead.
I also encourage local operators to take some time out to think about how they can improve business in 2019. Remember, CHDC is here to help with a wealth of resources, advice and other information.
A great place to start is the Business Resources section of chdc.com.au. It includes our Top Business Tips booklet. While it was compiled for 2018, its words of wisdom from some of the region’s most successful business people will stay relevant for years to come.
CHDC also has some exciting projects lined up for 2019. First cab off the rank will be the 2019/20 Central Highlands Visitor Guide and Touring Map. They will be released soon and I’m sure they’ll be a hit with visitors and even locals. Talented Central Queensland photographer Nathan White recently spent a few days touring our patch and his stunning images will be a key feature of the guide and map. They have also been well supported by local advertisers, ensuring that visitors will have a comprehensive variety of information at their fingertips.
The big event will be the 2019 Central Highlands Business Excellence Awards. We’ll keep you posted about the nomination and entry process but in the meantime, block out September 14 in your diary. That’s the date for the Awards Gala Dinner and it will be a fantastic night of networking and celebration of the hard work and passion of all local businesses.
Thank you to everyone for your support this year and I look forward to working with you again in 2019. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
