Driving growth & empowering business in the Central Highlands

Media Release 15 October 2019 - Speaker Line-Up has AgTeCH19 Covered

15 October 2019

AgTeCH19 has all corners of agricultural technology covered with its comprehensive line-up of guest speakers.

AgTeCH19: Build it, Use it, Profit, a major innovation and technology event for the Australian agricultural community, will feature 10 presenters from across Australia who are experts in their field.

The third annual event will be held in Emerald on 6 November. Register at chdc.com.au.

Speakers include Andrew Bate, founder of SwarmFarm Robotics, which is taking the international agtech world by storm, and David Parker, QLD Business Manager of Boomaroo Nurseries, Australia's first automated nursery, in Toowoomba.

"Rather than selecting a single keynote speaker, we have 10 expert panellists because when it comes to agtech, there's so much ground to cover, and there are so many amazing pioneers with informative and inspiring stories to share," explains Central Highlands Development Corporation (CHDC) General Manager Sandra Hobbs.

"We're bringing together the smartest minds at the intersection of agriculture, machinery and technology to enable the agribusiness community to collaboratively explore the future of the industry."

This year's speakers will be split across two panels that deliver interactive Q & A sessions led by MC and renowned journalist Peter Lewis.

The Automation, Robotics and Drones panel will feature Andrew Bate, SwarmFarm Robotics; Broughton Boydell, John Deere; John Coulombe, Southern Cross Drones; Tom Dowling, Goanna Ag; and David Parker, Boomaroo Nurseries.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Connectivity panel will consist of Sarah Nolet, AgThentic; Greg Kauter, Cowal Agriculture; Jason McNeice, BigSky Technologies; Andrew Roberts, Field Solutions; and Gavin Williams, NBN Australia.

The panel sessions will be complemented by demonstrations of the latest innovations to improve farm and business profitability, including SwarmFarm Robotics, John Deere and V-Net, the Department of Agriculture's research drones, T3RRA Precision Terrain Solutions and a greater focus on beef with the PLF Australia and mOOvement "smart farm".

Since 2017, AgTeCH has been held each year alternating between Emerald, QLD and Mungindi, NSW. Each event has sold out, with more than 245 attending Emerald and 280 at Mungindi, representing two million hectares of production, making AgTeCH one of the largest regionally-based dedicated agtech forums in Australia.

New to the program in 2019 is the exciting opportunity to meet the teams who have been participating in CHDC and X-Lab's AgFrontier Regional Agtech Incubator in the Startup Alley and Showcase.

CHDC also has trade stalls available for agtech and agribusiness companies to promote their products and services to people attending the event.

For those wishing to make it a double-header, AgTeCH19 will be followed by the free Farmers2Founders (F2F) Growers as Innovators workshop, also in Emerald on 7 November, supported by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).
