eNews 1 October 2019 - Skills Survey Results
FROM THE DESK OF CHDC'S REGIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Thank you to all the businesses and organisations who have completed CHDC's Bridging the Skills Gap survey to date. It's still open here and we're happy to take on board your feedback on skills and knowledge needed now and into the future. We have had 44 responses so far and here is some the information sourced from the survey.
See below the Technical skills identified in the Agribusiness, Resources and Tourism Sectors.

Each industry sector has a focus area for a range of technical skills:
- Agribusiness: accounting, financial management and managerial skills
- Resources: GPS tracking systems, environmental engineering and natural and physical science
- Tourism: customer service, front office operations and retail service.
As mentioned, there are the technical services that your industry is looking for now and has identified a definite need for the future.
When we move from the technical skills to more of the soft skills or enterprise skills, the data is grouped together for all sectors to provide us with a regional snapshot. Soft skills in most cases can be transitioned from one industry to another so we are looking at the region as a whole. I will share future graphs but please find some below that have high interest for the Bridging the Skills Gap project.

We are analysing this information to potentially plan short courses to improve skills, particularly in the soft skills area. Watch this space for updates.
