CHDC can help by providing regional data which you can use to support your application, link you to appropriate business and agencies related to your project, and write formal letters of support. DAF's Industry Development Officer Alicia Dunbar is also an important resource.

Global success for our CHDC AgFrontier Regional Agtech Incubator Cohort members
  • SwarmFarm Robotics completed a fantastic final pitch to take out 3rd place in the 2019 Future Agro Challenge Global Agripreneur of The Year held in Greece last week. Future Agro Challenge (FAC) is the largest global initiative that discovers fundable food, agtech, and agriculture innovators from around the world. Over the past four years FAC has organised a national competition in over 60 countries across five continents. Andrew and Jocie Bate from SwarmFarm were the winners of the 2018 national competition held annually in Atherton and represented Australia at the international level. Congratulations Andrew and Jocie Bate and your great team!
  • Data Farming was one of 13 selected for TERRA, San Francisco, considered one of the world's leading Food and Agriculture Accelerators. TERRA kicks off its fourth Cohort next week, partnering Food and Ag startups with a consortium of the industry's most influential companies. DataFarming aims to unlock the potential of Precision Agriculture products and farm data by putting easy-to-use, simple, automated and low-cost digital solutions in the hands of agronomists and producers. Data Farming was one of more than 300 startup applications from over 50 countries to be selected and the only Australian team. In fact, they are only the second team to be selected from Australia since the Accelerator started. Congratulations Tim and Peta Neale!

You can follow the latest updates from AgFrontier here and follow us on Twitter @agfrontier.

The really good news is that you can catch up with both of these regionally-based Australian startups, plus the rest of our wonderful cohort, at AgTeCH19: Build it, Use it, Profit. Register here.

Only 8 trade stalls remaining at AgTeCH19!
We'll try to squeeze a few more in, but we now have 32 trade stalls already taken and only eight remaining at November's AgTeCH19. For more information and to register for a trade stall check out the AgTeCH19 Partnership Prospectus.

Don't miss out: Young Tech Bursaries to attend AgTeCH19 close 5pm Wednesday 9 October
With the support of our Young Tech Partners, CQUniversity and the Fitzroy Basin Association, AgTeCH19 is nurturing the next generation of emerging agricultural and food-tech leaders by giving them the opportunity to attend the event for FREE.

Applications are open now and close on Wednesday 9 October, 2019 for the Young Tech Bursaries, which provide complimentary registration for up to 20 budding agtech entrepreneurs and students (and their teachers) from across Central Queensland.

Hot off the press - congratulations to CHRRUP
Congratulations to the Central Highlands Regional Resources Use Planning Cooperative Limited (CHRRUP) for its win in the DAF Agribusiness Category at the Central Highlands Business Excellence Awards on Saturday night.

Since 2001, CHRRUP has worked to improve natural resource use and management in the four catchments of the Central Highlands. CHRRUP's activities are led by a small, dedicated group of staff who are experienced in project and service delivery, identifying and addressing regional issues and community engagement across our wide network of stakeholders. Well done to Simone, Jess, Sara and Stace.
.
Also deserving recognition were their fellow Agribusiness finalists SwarmFarm Robotics and PLF Australia (Precision Livestock Farming). However Central Highlands agribusiness made a strong showing across all categories:

2019 Innovation & Technology Award, sponsored by the Local Buying Foundation, presented to SwarmFarm Robotics. Fair Dinkum Meats and PLF Australia were also category finalists.
The Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Grains team were awarded runner-up in the HEME Research & Skills Development Category
Excellence in Retail, Wholesale & Distribution Service was awarded to Fair Dinkum Meats
Professional & Business Services Award was won by 4T Consultants; and
4T Consultants & Fair Dinkum Meats were announced as new Inductees into the Central Highlands Business Awards Excellence Hall of Fame.
All of you provide excellent service and products to your clients and our community - as well as to the Agribusiness Program at CHDC. Thank you and congratulations!
